Dealership where I live has guys who are tired of rebuilding motors for almost every RX-7 and RX-8 they sold every few years. They are just much more complex when it comes to sealing them and they lose compression all the time.
AUTOMATION THE CAR TYCOON GAME ENGINE PLATFORMS FULL
Not full of crap and won't argue, them things were replaced so often Mazda gave up on selling them. You can not treat it like a normal piston engine. The reason so many people have had issues is many owners are not really aware of what they are buying. NA engines will last a long time, boosted can be more problimatic depending on what has been done.īasically, you average non rotary nut will kill one pretty easily. Outside that, don't get to crazyt with the boost. They don't like highway cruising or being babied. Main couple points frequent oil changes and rev the piss out of the engine. Older versions of the engine in the RX7's also have been proven to last a long time, if taken care of. The sorted them and by 09, had a updated version with many updates and changes. The first couple years of the new 13B-MSP in the 8 had some issue. We have a few guys nearing 200K on first engine. If taken car of properly they can be reliable.
